About the Department

The Department of Computer Science at Mahishadal Girls' College was established in 23 June 2006 with the introduction of Computer Science as a General subject, marking a significant step towards integrating technology-driven education into the institution. The department commenced its academic journey and received affiliation to offer B.Sc. (Honours) in Computer Science on 19 June 2009. Initially supported by part-time and guest faculty members, the department has been strengthened since 22 December 2016 with a permanent faculty member recruited through the College Service Commission (CSC), along with dedicated State Aided College Teachers (SACTs), ensuring quality teaching and academic mentoring.

Over the years, the Department has grown into a dynamic centre for quality education in Computer Science, dedicated to nurturing competent, innovative, and socially responsible graduates.

Eligibility

Students from the Science stream with Mathematics at the Higher Secondary (10+2) level are eligible for admission to the B.Sc. (Honours) programme in Computer Science, subject to the admission rules of the affiliating university.
