Best Practice — 01
Holistic Student Welfare through Convergence of Support Cells
Objective: To create a unified, student‑centred welfare ecosystem by
integrating the Anti‑Ragging Cell, SC/ST & Minority Cell, Gender Sensitisation Cell,
Scholarship Facilitation Cell and Career Guidance services into a single, accessible student
support framework.
Practice: The college constituted a Composite Student Welfare Council that
coordinates all welfare cells under a single convener from the teaching faculty, with a
weekly “Welfare Hour” where students can walk in without an appointment. Awareness
sessions are conducted at the start of each semester covering scholarships, anti‑ragging,
legal rights and available welfare funds.
Evidence of Success: Scholarship application rates increased significantly,
no ragging incidents have been reported, and students report greater awareness of their
rights and entitlements.
